Zakat and DoorDash Feed Hungry Californians This Month

In honor of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting, spiritual discipline, and gratitude, the Zakat Foundation of America joined forces with food delivery service DoorDash to give hot meals to the hungry in Pomona, California. The Zakat Foundation of America will provide 100,000 meals domestically in a campaign called 'Feel the Hunger to Do Good,' with 15,000 of those meals in partnership with DoorDash.

"Regardless of your spiritual closeness to God, the first visceral reaction when fasting during Ramadan is hunger, a feeling that unfortunately unites us," said Amna Mirza, Chief Marketing Officer at Zakat Foundation of America. "Food insecurity exists everywhere. Our campaign, Feel the Hunger to Do Good, is turning that visceral reaction into an action to help — to do good."
