A Conneticut-based start-up called 'Chairigami' is trying to raise money on Kickstarter to fund its product: a cardboard standing desk. The cardboard standing desk allows you to work on your feet rather than in a sitting form. The inventors point out that standing while working engages different muscles, burns energy and keeps you focused.
Since it is made of cardboard, this standing desk is extremely light at only 15 pounds. This makes it easy for workers to move their desks around, and collaborate with colleagues and partners.
Despite being so light, the Chairigami desk is surprisingly strong due to its corrugated cardboard structure. It can hold up to 300 pounds of weight and lasts two to three years. The corrugated cardboard is highly durable and the desk structure actually becomes solid the more weight is applied to it.
