This is due in part to such TV shows as Miami Ink, whose wild success catapulted tattoo art into the realm of the socially acceptable. Thus, it should come as no surprise that Miami is the most inked city in America, with 24 registered tattoo shops in total.

Our Chief Trend Hunter and top keynote speaker Jeremy Gutsche explored the concept of mainstream ink with CBS Miami, explaining that "Whenever you have a culture that is beachside based like Miami or Sao Paolo you see a much higher interest that is cosmetic, whether it’s plastic surgery or something like a tattoo." This idea focuses on modern society's desire to show skin, which, though more concentrated in warmer areas like Miami, is a concept that is rapidly expanding into other societies.
