The Canon CN20x50 is designed to be used as a portable lens for broadcast productions using either HD, Ultra HD or 4K video. It is equipped with weather-proof and shock-proof construction and is compatible with super 35-mm cameras. It also bears a 12-pin serial connection which allows it to be connected to conventional broadcast equipment.
However, the main attraction of this lens is its massive focal length range; it can cover 50-1500 mm taking into account its extender.
The Canon CN20x50 will go on sale in the first quarter of 2015, and will cost around $78,000.
