The C350 Plug-In Hybrid was rolled out by Mercedes at the Detroit Auto Show in a bid to expand and boost its C-class range by offering a plug-in hybrid vehicle to complement the C300 BlueTEC Hybrid and array of petrol and diesel engines. This vehicle is outfitted with the typically luxurious C-Class interior but also offers excellent fuel economy.
The C350 Plug-In Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged quad-cylinder motor that is capable of producing 211 horsepower and 258 pounds-feet of torque. This petrol engine is supplemented by an electric motor that draws its juice from a 6.2 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery situated just beneath the rear axle. This battery can be fully charged from a regular wall socket in less than two hours.
