The Concept of 'Walking Meetings' Allow Workers to Decrease Sitting Time

To help reduce the amount of time employees stay seated throughout the day, the University of Miami coupled with the research provided by Hannah Kling have come up with the 'Walking Business Meeting' (WaM) that encourages staff to turn the seated affair into a form of exercise. The idea is that the topics and themes are discussed while the employees are moving along a walking route, as a way to provide exercise into the day without compromising on business functions.

The WaMs are an ideal way for workers to brainstorm ideas and discuss while adding in some physical activity. The event can be done using a pre-set walking route with a small wrap up at the end to conclude ideas.

With millennials heavily prioritizing their health, a WaM can be a process many brands can being to offer as a solution to sitting all day.
