Fire and metal have been used to create jewelry since humans have been able to hammer and shape molten pieces of metal. Little did our ancient ancestors realize that their prodigy would be making jewelry by using what was left of metal propelled at high velocities towards targets.
Designer Adi Zaffran Weisler, from the Bezalel academy of art and design in Jerusalem, is taking melted, fragmented bullets and doing just that.
By collecting bullet fragments from various firing ranges, Weisler has created a line of unique rings. “Every bullet,†says Zaffran, “retains memories and traces of the journey it underwent, from the moment it was fired until it was picked up.â€
Definitely gives new meaning to the word 'bling'!
