Robot-Created Cocktails

This Bourbon Punch Was Created by IBM's Chef Watson Computer

You wouldn't know it by simply looking at these glasses of bourbon punch, but they were cleverly crafted by IBM's Chef Watson.

This IBM supercomputer's culinary knowledge is now being put to the test in combination with a software that's designed to pair pleasing ingredient flavors. While a sandwich made with turkey, fennel, sour cream and bacon might sound odd, Chef Watson brings together unusual flavors that we may have a natural bias to.

In the case of this bourbon punch, Chef Watson crafted a recipe that combines whiskey with triple sec, bananas, citrus, vanilla, honey and turmeric. As a result, this robot-created cocktail is tangy and sweet, but most importantly, it's totally fit for human consumption.
