It does so by embracing the weight of the books stored on its surface and sagging down the middle in a graceful arc. Although it looks like it is on the verge of breaking, it was actually designed to bend just in this exact manner.
Simple yet captivating, the Book Shelf by Daniel Eatock is a reinterpretation of the Display Book Shelf commissioned for the Book Show at Eastside Projects. Curated by James Langdon, the truly intriguing part of this installation is that the 75 books on the shelf's surface remain completely flushed on top even though they sag from below, thanks to a conscious selection of volumes.
