Biodegradable Hair Brushes

Kitsch Consciously Created Collection Uses Corn Starch Fibers

Hair brushes and combs are commonly made of plastic but the Kitsch Consciously Created Hair Brush Collection introduces five pieces with an eco-friendly slant. One of the key ingredients in the biodegradable brushes and combs is corn starch fiber, which can be turned into PLA—the most widely used plastic filament material in 3D printing. Unlike plastic waste, PLA is fully biodegradable.

While the body of the brushes is made from biodegradable materials, there are also bristles are recycled nylon. The collection introduces a wet/dry brush, a paddle brush, a wide-tooth comb, a round blow dry brush and even a mini travel brush for on-the-go use.

The Kitsch Consciously Created Hair Brush Collection follows the release of the brand's package-free shampoo and conditioner bars, which also help to cut down on waste.
