Modibodi's Biodegradable Brief is Made of Merino, Tencel & TPU Film

Modibodi's Biodegradable Brief is the world's first period- and urine-proof underwear and it is made with a combination of Merino wool, Tencel made from sustainably sourced wood, biodegradable TPU film, elastic made from a polyamide yarn and organic cotton. Free of harmful chemicals, the underwear uses a mix of natural and bioengineered synthetic textiles for a composition that is 97% biodegradable.

The Biodegradable Brief can be washed more than 100 times before it reaches the end of its usable life, at which time the elastic can be separated from the main body of the briefs. While the elastic can be discarded with landfill waste so that microorganisms will break down under anaerobic conditions, the rest of the underwear can be buried in soil with natural microorganisms, bugs and bacteria so that the remains of the product can return to nature.
