Billy Butcher's Marvel Comics' Mashup Brings Spandex into Movies

Superheroes of this generation have had a huge makeover, but artist Billy Butcher reminds comic book fans of the origins of these characters and how it all started in his Superhero Crossover Media Project.

Ditching the old bright spandex from the 70s for the hot leather suits, many superheroes like Batman, X-Men and Thor have had huge facelifts in regards to their outfits. Using shots from Marvel Comics' recent hits such as Spiderman, The Hulk, X-Men and The Avengers, Billy Buthcer superimposes the vibrant 70s 2D characters on top of their movie forms as well as adding a few retro touches to show viewers of what the scenes may look like if they were made 30 years ago. Thankfully, these blockbuster movies were made when they were made though.
