Oceanic Wind Farms

'Dong Energy' is Building the World's Biggest Wind Farm in the Irish Sea

'Dong Energy' has received all necessary investments and is set to build the world's biggest wind farm in the Irish Sea by 2018. The sea will have thousands of wind turbines rising out from the rough waters, looking like an immense field of propellers.

The natural energy source will provide power to the UK and Germany, generating enough power for the needs of 12.5 million people and 460,000 UK homes. The 'Walney Extension Project' will beat the current record holder of the "world's biggest wind farm" -- the London Array.

The move to oceanic wind farms comes after the UK government stopped giving subsidies to onshore farms but will still provide money if the installations are completed offshore. Clean energy generated by wind is maximized when the turbines are built out at sea as the winds are stronger away from land.
