The 'Big Splash' collection designed by Bill Gaytten for John Galliano Spring Summer 2012 Mens Collection plunged into warm waters for the Paris Men Fashion Week, presenting wearable rock-star couture.
As explained by Gaytten, the newly appointed designer for the Galliano brand, the 'Big Splash' items draw inspiration from the '60s London art scene, and the muses of this collection, amongst others, are clearly musicians. The 'Big Splash' collection tries to be true to Galliano's eccentric, romantic style but proposes accessible, wearable pieces; beat-rock military jackets; rolling-and-stoning wanderer hats; humorous AC/DC school-wear; and out-of-sync underwear.
The collection sans Galliano was much anticipated and the toned-down design approach might not have exactly achieved the 'Big Splash' the John Galliano brand name was known for in the past.
