'Beyond Taste' is an experimental collection of crockery that allows individuals to have a better understanding of their food — where it comes from and how it is prepared. It does so in vastly unexpected ways.
The design-forward tableware capsule is created by a graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven. Her name is Teresa Berger. Each piece has a rather sculptural demeanor, with textures that entice the consumer to explore and accessories that are meant to enhance the smell of the dish. Moreover, the 'Beyond Taste' range also includes a speaker that is meant to deliver "sonic seasoning" to the 'Sound Donut' plate. The device transmits ambient sounds that are linked to a study that suggests: "particular frequencies and pitches [...] can affect the levels of sweetness and bitterness perceived by the eater."
