The Art Institute of Chicago has created an incredible room that is essentially a life-size replica of Bedroom in Arles, one of the most famous works of the Dutch post-impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. Currently available for rent via Airbnb, the room is a spectacularly accurate replica of the famous painting itself.
The Bedroom in Arles replica was constructed in order to promote a new exhibition, Van Gogh's Bedrooms, that opens at the museum on Valentine's Day before continuing on to May 10. The room is capable of accommodating two people and even comes with a bathroom. Considering how faithful a reproduction of Van Gogh's work this room is, it's pleasantly surprising to note that it can be yours for only $10 a night.
This replica room is a great example of how artistic promotion and the sharing economy can meet in uniquely effective fashion.
