'Bad Little Children's Books' is a Mischievous Spin on Classic Tales

Essentially based on children's books gone wild, Bob Staake's gallery titled 'Bad Little Children's Books' recreates lovable adolescent storybooks that were popular during the 1940s to 1960s into indecent visual parodies.

Each of the books in their original form provide a light read for young children and offer wholesome messages. Bob Staake satirizes the cover images to come up with another title for each book that is somewhat crude and comical. One of Bob Staake's images from his Bad Little Children's Books includes a picture of a little girl and boy sweeping up littered cans all over the floor with the title Mommy Needs to Go to Detox, obscuring the initial theme of the book that displayed cleaning-up as a generous act that parents would be proud of.

Bob Staake toys with the over-exaggerated theme of kindness in the stories and releases a darker satirically humorous side with his gallery of re-imagined children's books.
