Avalanche Survival Airbags

Backcountry Access Float 30 Prevents Skiers from Snow Burial

Skiing in extreme environments always brings the possibility of an avalanche, so the Backcountry Access Float 30 was created to increase the chances of survival should one come blazing down a mountain.

The Backcountry Access Float 30 is a backpack with an inflatable airbag. The company based the design on the Brazil nut effect, which according to the company, is when "when a bowl of mixed nuts are shaken, smaller nuts fall to the bottom, while larger one’s move to the top." The airbag is reusable and requires the individual to deploy it manually. Once up, it will help keep the user above surface. In addition to the airbag, there's other features which include a pressure gauge, air hose, trigger handle and more.
