Interactive Ecotecture Games

The Autodesk Retrofits Game Teaches You While You Play

Like a simpler, more eco twist on Sim City, the Autodesk RetroFits game lets you play with virtual architecture.

The online game about green building lets users learn about the harsh environmental impacts of outdated buildings that pollute our atmosphere with dangerous carbon emissions: did you know that architecture is the culprit for 38% of these emissions? Pretty scary, huh?

"According to McKinsey & Company, energy efficiency measures alone can tackle about half the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions 60 to 90 percent by the year 2050," Arch Daily says.

While the Autodesk RetroFits game looks like a fun time, it’s also aimed at educating architects, engineers and even landlords, tenants, teachers, children and those generally interested in greening our cities.

"Play the RetroFits game and help raise awareness about the benefits of better, greener buildings," the Autodesk RetroFits site says. "Buildings are the number 1 source of greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S. Make these buildings better with sustainable and energy efficient design."
