A scientist working out of the University of Buffalo invented an innovative autism-diagnosing app that is designed to detect signs of autism at an extremely early age, in order to empower children, as well as their parents, to access the best possible care in a timely manner.
The EarlySee app uses facial recognition technology to detect signs of autism, specifically by analyzing children's eye movements in order to assess their cognitive abilities. The app then sends its calculations over to the researcher, who can estimate the likelihood of autism in a matter of just 40 seconds, and with a hugely impressive 97 percent accuracy rate.
There's no question that an autism diagnosis can be very difficult for both child and parent, but by taking a proactive approach, this autism-diagnosing app helps to mitigate the challenges that come with living with autism.
