Equality-Promoting Car Ads

This Audi Car Ad Targets Girls Who Want to Play with "Toys for Boys"

This Audi car ad from Audi Spain tells the story of 'The Doll That Chose to Drive.' In a Christmas toy store, one brave doll decides to cross over the aisle and get into an Audio toy car, not as a passenger, but a driver.

The doll choosing to drive isn't the only stereotype-busting detail in this commercial. In the ad, there are also unicorn toys that skateboard and burly action figurines that are taking a break to sip from dainty tea cups. Near the end of the ad, a real boy goes to pick up the toy car with the doll inside, only to have his mother say that the two playthings "don't go together." The disappointed young boy later goes back to grab the doll so she can be reunited with the blue Audi car.

While young girls who are still playing with toys are not Audi's target audience, this equality-promoting ad will stick in the minds of girls and women when it comes time to make a car purchase.
