The New Audemars Piguet RD#3 Features an Ultra-Luxe Movement

As part of its 50th-anniversary celebration, luxury Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet unveiled its newest timepiece, the Audemars Piguet RD#3. The ultra-luxe wristwatch offers a nod to the brand's past Royal Oak models, introducing a powerful Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Extra-Thin movement.

The 39mm stainless steel timepiece features a Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50 Petite Tapisserie dial with satin-brushed hand finishes. In addition, the timepieces come equipped with a sapphire case back and an incredibly thin 8.1mm thickness. According to the company, creating the Audemars Piguet RD#3 was a five-year process requiring significant research.

"The Royal Oak continues to evolve and cut through the timeline 50 years after its creation and will do so for the next 50 years and beyond," said the head of communications at Audemars Piguet, Michael Friedman.
