'Atari World' Introduces 8-Bit Characters to Nature

"Atari World" is an awesome art series that transplants the lovable pixels from the Atari 2600 into the real world. The series was created by Carlos Pérez, an artist from Sevilla, Spain. He has taken pixelated cowboys, fishermen and animals and placed them into the real world.

Many artists have created hyper-real art featuring video game characters, but not many have chosen to work with Atari-quality graphics. Atari World has a certain charm to it. It really is the little things that make these pieces awesome, such as the pixelated lasso in the prairie scene and the pixel fish in the fishing portraits. Here's hoping Pérez expands his Atari World series; it'd be awesome to see real-life humans paired with 8-bit characters from way back when.
