‘Paint Box' in Muse

Muse magazine #15 takes the artistic painting trend in a different direction with their "Paint Box" editorial. The editorial features model Erin Heatherton as a passionate painter, but instead of having her body painted, as most female models have been portrayed recently, she is the painter.

Wipperfurth was captured by photographer Olaf Wipperfurth while she painted a naked male model’s body with both her hands and feet.

What I like about this editorial is how Wipperfurth portrayed the essence and spirit of a true artist with the look on her face and her outlandish poses.

The editorial was styled by Sarah Cobb with pieces from Hermès, Gucci, Levi’s, Just Cavalli, Diesel Black Gold, Miu Miu, and Georgio Armani.
Trend Themes
1. Body Art Editorials - Creative editorial spreads featuring body art instead of clothing or traditional beauty make a statement on personal expression and body positivity.
2. Artistic Modeling - Models who are also artists take center stage, offering new opportunities for brands to collaborate on campaigns and product lines that blur the line between fashion and art.
3. Interactive Photo Shoots - The use of technology, like 360-degree cameras and virtual reality, in photo shoots creates more immersive experiences for viewers and a way for brands to showcase their products in unique ways.
Industry Implications
1. Fashion - Fashion brands can use these edgy editorials to promote their products to a younger, more eclectic audience while aligning their brand with the values of inclusivity and self-expression.
2. Branding and Advertising - Brands can hire artist-models to work on creative projects that will set them apart from their competitors and appeal to audiences who are looking for unconventional and eye-catching visual content.
3. Art and Photography - These editorials could inspire a new wave of art and photography projects that highlight unconventional materials, like the human body, and expand the boundaries of what we consider traditional forms of artistic expression.
