Seattle-based artist John Grade has taught his newest masterpiece an interesting trick; this art sculpture can breathe.
This site-specific work of art reacts to the climate it is inhabited in. Its current home is the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Wisconsin, USA. This big and beautiful art sculpture stands at 40’ x 20’ x 20’ and slowly but surely reacts to the weather and temperature conditions of the outside.
This piece behaves accordingly to the stats collected outside of its home and a mechanized controller within the installation powers the sculpture so that it appears to be breathing slowly. This amazing piece is among the first art sculptures in the world to have such keen human-like properties while still remaining so pleasing to eye.
Perhaps for his next project, John can construct a sculpture that can beat box!
