These Antony Gormley Sculptures Connect Geography with the Human Form

Taking into consideration the severe impact that the human race has on the Earth, these Antony Gormley sculptures creatively depict this concept by twisting people into the structures that are put up.

The British artist included these artworks in an exhibit, which was dubbed 'Fit,' in partnership with the White Cube Gallery. In it, a total of 500 Antony Gormley sculptures are contained, which were made over the course of two years. When asked about a component of the exhibit that shows many of the block-like human forms laying closely next to one another, called the 'Sleeping Field/' The artist explained the project by saying "The whole show is all about us; humans and society, right now and the ‘Sleeping Field’ is a main part of this idea."

He continued this by saying "It is about the forces that are effecting cities, not just London but around the world. We have even greater divisions between the rich and the poor, and ever bigger corporation interests that are in contradiction and alien to communities and individual interests."
