Horrifically Morbid Femmes

These Annie Owens Illustrations Evoke Villainesses from Scary Movies

I recently rewatched The Shining, which means I can't think of anything but horribly disturbing things when looking at these Annie Owens illustrations. Not only does she employ a surrealistic goth-inspired style to her artwork, but the peculiar use of female subjects also adds a layer of disturbance that rivals the work of Stephen King himself.

My favorite of this select bunch of Annie Owens illustrations has got to be the one featuring the young girl with a full tattoo sleeve on her left arm as well as a cigarette in her mouth. Even though she's puny, I would definitely hesitate to get into a fight with her.
