Collapsible Marble Furnishings

The Annex Snap Fit Table

The Annex Snap Fit table is a cleverly conceived furniture concept by industrial designer Joe Doucet. Commissioned by the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, the signed and numbered table collection is made entirely of hand honed marble materials.

Challenging the material's traditional uses and physical properties, Doucet creates a collection of collapsible designs that fit together like perfect puzzle pieces. Each of the unique furniture pieces uses only gravity to join together tabletop and frame elements adding to the innovation of this product.

The geometrically shaped furnishings defy convention and push the boundaries of their marble material. While marble is typically synonymous with heavy tiling and monumental architecture, it is made light-weight and modular in Joe Doucet's Annex Snap Fit table design.
