Extra Pointy Metal Roofs

The Princeton Transit Hall Sports an Angular Roof by Studio Rick Joy

An angular roof is the defining feature of Princeton Transit Hall — a train station in New Jersey that gives access to Princeton University. The complex is comprised out of two buildings and the most defining feature is the exceptional angular roof that adds a sense of abstractness to the exterior. The feature is completed with a thin blackened sheet of metal. In addition to it adding a definite aesthetic embellishment to the Princeton Transit Hall, the roof also provides ample shade for the comfort of waiting individuals.

The feature is also visible from the interior of the building. Studio Rick Joy juxtaposes the darkness and minimalism of the extravagant angular roof with sizable windows that are framed in white oak and that boast built-in walnut benches.
