Amtrak Brings Swanky Back

Luxury Service Returns to the Rails

Butlers, martinis and five course meals are making their way aboard Amtrak's rails this fall. The national railroad has teamed up with GrandLuxe Rail Journeys to attach seven GrandLuxe cars to existing Amtrak routes.

GrandLuxe service will operate separately from the regular Amtrak service. Each segment will have a dining and lounge car and room for 47 passengers. Presently GrandLuxe passengers will not be able to disembark at intermediate Amtrak stops due to platform configurations, but that could change in the future.

Tickets for the two and three day GrandLuxe Limited trips will range in price from $789 to $2,499.
