'What Font is Your City?' Pairs American Cities with Fonts

Giving cities a typographic personality, the 'What font is your city?' infographic matches American cities to fonts. Commissioned by real estate site Movoto, the infographic details out what font represents each American city and why. Ten cities were chosen to be honored with a font pairing by employees at Movoto.

Each font in the chart was chosen by looking at the personalities of the cities in question. Three adjectives that describe each city were chosen. The adjectives were then used to match a corresponding font. Whether the city is "bold, ridged or whimsical," Movoto has a font to match it. New York was given a tall, thin and structural font to represent its reputation as a hub for fashion and business. Chicago was paired with a rough script font to signify the windy city's industrial nature.
