Handheld Grocery Shopping Devices

The Amazon Dash Easily Updates Your Online Grocery Shopping List

Amazon Dash is a hand-held gadget that you can use to buy groceries in conjunction with AmazonFresh, the same-day online grocery shopping and delivery service from Amazon. Not satisfied by providing electronic goods, clothes and the books at dirt-cheap rates, Amazon looks like it now wants to invade the grocery business by using technology and innovation to make grocery shopping both cheaper and more convenient.

The Amazon Dash device is equipped with voice-control, so you can 'tell' it what groceries you're out of. The device then updates your grocery list on the online AmazonFresh interface. Amazon Dash even has a built-in barcode scanner that comes in handy if you run out of a specific brand of product and want to buy more of it. For example, if you run out of orange juice, simply press the barcode button and scan the empty orange juice carton. Amazon Dash will gather the juice carton's product information and send it over to your grocery queue on AmazonFresh.

Most people won't be able to make use of Amazon Dash just yet, because AmazonFresh itself is only available in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.
