For Bambi Issue 10, Vivienne Mok shot a series of hazy, dreamy photographs of model Alona languidly posing about a grand, sunlight-drenched foyer. Mok has been described as an auteur; looking through these photographs, it's easy to understand why.
A warm beige haze pervades the series like smoke from a thousand candles wisping their way through rays of faltering sunlight. Alona's long, flowing dresses sail through each frame as effortlessly as dandelion seeds in the wind.
Everything in the series screams luxury. The clothing is about as far from practical as one can get. The setting is palatial. Even the lighting is uncommon. Yet despite such comfort, Alona’s expressions are remote and listless in some shots and even melancholic in others.
