I had no idea that so many different animal species had albinos in their mix.

For instance, only 10 in every 1 million squirrels are born albinos, and of the 2 million or so alligators in the United States, only around 40 are albino.
Sadly, albino creatures often have a short life expectancy as their stand-out appearance makes them vulnerable to prey.
On a brighter note, albino kangaroos kept at Australian zoos are protected from the sun with a daily douse in sunscreen provided by their carers.
