Waste Awareness Art Pieces

The Aida Sulova Series Sends a Socially Conscious Message

Aida Sulova is a street artist from Kyrgyzstan who has decided to start an art campaign that would remind people to recycle and throw garbage in bins as opposed to on the streets. She basically took photographic images of open mouths and pasted them on garbage bins.

Kyrgyzstan has been suffering from a waste management dilemma due to the lack of government regulation. Although Sulova, doesn't consider herself an environmentalist, she started the 'Once Upon a Plastic Bag' campaign in hopes of inspiring her fellow citizens to create a better future for its children. Many countries around the world are also plagued with waste management issues, which are often left unresolved.
