'A Night to Remember' Celebrates Diversity

'A Night to Remember' began as a small campaign to create lasting memories for students with special needs.

Since 2011 it has blossomed into an enormous event, bringing hundreds of students to its celebration of difference, where special needs are honored and accepted.

The guests are given free admission to the event, making it possible for every student aged 14-22 to attend, regardless of their means. Each guest also receives free hairstyling and makeup, as well as jewelry, a dress or tux and a corsage or boutonniere.

The evening begins with a swanky arrival in a stretch limo, followed by a walk down the red carpet, where professional photographers capture each wonderful moment. The evening ends with a fancy dinner and a huge dance party.

'A Night to Remember' began as an online campaign, and managed to raise over $25,000 to fund the event. In just a year, they expanded from a capacity of 300 students to 600, and will hopefully continue to expand, creating more magical nights for every deserving student- more nights to remember.
