Artist Matthew Hoffman designs hand-carved frames using calligraphy. His ‘What wood you say series’ has been recreated with refined wooden frames. This latest edition is a framed hand-cut piece of art that has 3D words popping out and cut with exact precision. With these frames he uses any kind of words or phrases with colors to carve it by hand on the spot.
He hand draws the words with pencil, paints them, cuts them out, finishes them, then assembles it onto a mounted wooden frame. Each of these custom pieces are made from solid mahogany wood that are durable and have a beautiful refined finish. Hand carved frames are just a new way to illustrate words in art as a form of calligraphy.
