Flower-Covered Village Ads

Sony's 4K Ultra HD TV Commercial Fills a Town with Flower Petals

8 million flower petals were needed to cover an entire village in Costa Rica for Sony's latest 4K Ultra HD TV ad. The compelling commercial creates a dreamlike sequence that was brought to life by global advertising agency McCann.

McCann's creative team worked alongside a British special effects studio and talented photographer Nick Meek who captured the beauty of this highly ambitious concept.

Working alongside the village's inhabitants, the ad's creative team took more than two weeks to collect more than 8 million vivid flower petals to match the number of pixels on the Sony's 4K Ultra HD TV screen. The collected result was 3,5 tons of the brightest petals that were transformed with the help of effects like volcanic eruptions and undulating waves of colorful petals.
