Hanging Cloth Identity Installations

4 Habitats Explores Different Levels of the Self

'4 Habitats' is an installation by Suh Architects and Kolon Corporation that explores the various levels of self identity. After much research done between both groups, the two came up with a design that used cloth to represent these different states that people experience in solitude.

"The overall themes consist of: one to infinity, one to higher self, one to many, and one to only [and] these habitats are transportable, reconfigurable, and designed to adapt to its host venue," states DesignBoom. These various levels are explored as visitors walk through each cloth installation, which completely immerses the person as they venture through these areas. Each representation also has a different color to help differentiate between the various themes, all of which are done in bright hues to grab people's attention. Photo Credits: designboom, kolon
