This 3D-Printed Model from NASA Mimics the Design of the Curiosity Rover

NASA has a sizeable collection of 3D data that is being translated into STL files that are optimized for making 3D-printed models. One of the most recognizable models is of the Curiosity Rover, which is known as the first spacecraft to successfully land on the surface of Mars.

NASA also made a collection its printable models available for download online, complete with instructions for printing and assembly. Other include 3D-printed models for the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, Orion Space Capsule and the Hubble Space Telescope.

As well as making great decorations for space enthusiasts, these models could potentially be used as great educational tools for kids in school on both additive manufacturing and the science of space.
