Holographic Phone Displays

HoloFlex Created a One-of-a-Kind 3D Phone Using Holographs

Researchers from Queen's University have been working to develop a 3D phone that uses holograph technology. With its display screen, the phone uses layers to create an image that can pop out at any angle. By using minuscule "fish-eye lenses," the display creates a picture evocative of science fiction films. Unlike other models, the HoloGraph does not require cumbersome glasses or need to match up for "head tracking" to work.

Currently the HoloGraph's display screen is lacking in resolution, however the phone is still in its early stages of development. If having a 3D phone wasn't enough, the HoloFlex is also unbelievably flexible. With this, the phone's screen is highly resistant to shattering as it is engineered to withstand bending. Developers have included this feature for games like Angry Birds as well, letting users warp their phone like putty to complete actions.
