The Conceptual '2°C' Toothbrush Reduces Plastic Waste by 87%

Plastic toothbrushes have become the norm but aren't an eco-friendly option for oral care, so the conceptual '2°C' toothbrush aims to offer an alternative. Designed by Andrea Mangone, the toothbrush features a detachable bristle section that can be swapped out as required instead of requiring users to replace the entire unit. This cuts the plastic waste created by 87% when compared to traditional plastic toothbrushes to offer consumers a more sustainable option to choose for their daily brushing needs.

Mangone spoke to Yanko Design regarding the conceptual '2°C' toothbrush saying, "When not in use the toothbrush snaps magnetically to a smart base for a minimum footprint on the bathroom counter. The smart base is able to track brushing time and frequency, as well as estimating when the brush heads should be replaced for an optimal brushing effectiveness. Moreover the system is able to provide an additional estimate of how much plastic is being saved from trash."
