Worn by 60-year-old Avtar Singh Mauni from Patiala, Northen India, he puts on the elaborate headdress every time he visits his local temple.
Measuring 2,115 feet (about 645 meters), the 100-pound turban is the result of 16 years of collecting different cloths and accessories. 66 pounds are attributed to fabrics while the remaining weight is due to other embellishments. A "bizarre intersection of art, fashion, and religion," as Beautiful Decay writes, he says the 100-pound turban is no burden to him.
