X-ray Nature Photographs

These X-ray Photographs Show You Nature Like Never Before

Arie van’t Riet is a radiation physicist who also moonlights as an artist, using his knowledge and background he creates these gorgeous colored X-ray photographs of nature.

Arie van’t Riet starts out with a traditional black and white X-ray which he then digitizes and adds colors to in Photoshop. The results are these incredible pictures of nature as you've never seen. The choice to add colors to certain parts of the X-ray helps to make certain scenes pop and helps to underscore the beautiful interplay between science and nature that occurs in these X-ray photographs.

Arie van’t Riet prefers to X-ray objects of ordinary scenes and attempts to X-ray and color the photograph in manner that "represents the sentiment of the scene...to raise questions and excite curiosity" I believe looking at these X-ray photographs it's apparent he succeeded.
