The Conceptual 'Wishing Feed' Coin is Made of Dried Algae

The conceptual 'Wishing Feed' coin is a solution for those looking to partake in the customary practice of tossing a coin into water without causing harm to the surrounding wildlife.

The coin is crafted with a slightly oversized design and is made using a marine animal-friendly dried algae. This will make it suitable for fish or other wildlife to consume after it has been tossed into the water when compared to metal coins, which can be a choking hazard. The design takes wishing well customs into account and environmental needs to give the coin a win-win design for everyone.

The conceptual 'Wishing Feed' coin is the design work of Shengyan Gao, Xiaowen Lai and Jiongjie Wang, and is the winner of the iF Design Award for 2022.
