Mindful Water Taps

WWF Reveals the Water Consumption Journey with a Special Sink

In order to encourage the South African public to be more mindful about water consumption, WWF teamed up with Sanlam to create a special water tap.

The initiative features a sink attached to a diorama that shows the journey water takes from a natural source, through to where it is processed and ultimately released through a spout. Since it is so easy to turn on the tap and let it run without thinking about where this resource is coming from, this setup really emphasizes that the water had to go a long way to get there.

The 'Journey of Water' awareness activation is installed at the King Shaka International Airport, reminding people passing by that just eight percent of South Africa's land provides more than half of its surface water.
