Vintage Vehicle Photography

This Photo Series is a Collection of Retro Cars in San Francisco

This photo series has a unique concept -- photographing parked vintage vehicles in San Francisco. After moving to San Francisco a few years back, Zachary Genteman was shocked to see the number of retro cars lining the city's streets.

He began a project on Instagram called 'Parked,' and began snapping away every time a vintage Volkswagen or American muscle car came his way. Genteman is intrigued by old cars because he likes to reflect on what kind of adventures these cars have been on, and the long history each vehicle has.

Aesthetically, San Francisco's unique and recognizable architecture is the perfect backdrop for Genteman's project. The houses often feature tall and colorful facades which help make the photo series distinct and localized. Although a simple concept, Parked provides viewers an interesting way to explore San Francisco.
