The Viio Travel Aid Turns the Walking Stick into a Turn-By-Turn Nav Unit

Traversing crowded city streets while blind can be very dangerous, which is why Yonathan Halim designed the ViiO Travel Aid. The ViiO Travel Aid is a two-part system designed to help improve the functionality of the walking stick.

The ViiO Travel Aid has two parts: the Viitect and the Viirect. Viitect attaches to the walking stick and sends small vibrations to the user whenever their head is in danger of hitting a hanging object. Viirect attaches at the waistband and is a voice-guided GPS unit. The Viirect unit can both give directions and take feedback, making it easier for someone who is lost and alone to get the help they need. The two components of the ViiO system can be recharged via induction, making the entire setup completely stress free.
