These Shoes Are Crafted From Materials Including Castor Beans & Recycled Nylon

Nottingham, U.K.-based company Sokito, which specializes in eco-friendly and sustainability-conscious sportswear products, has launched a vegan soccer shoe that is made using leather alternative materials.

The 'Devista Vegan' boasts uppers that were crafted from a special leather alternative material that comprises 45 percent recycled nylon. Meanwhile, the shoe's lining comprises 85 percent plastic bottles, while the foam insole comprises a fifth recycled rubber. These soccer shoe's sustainability credentials don't end here however, seeing as how their soleplate is made using castor beans grown using a majority of renewable carbon.

The first ever soccer shoe to be recognized by the Vegan Society, the 'Devista Vegan' also happens to promise high-performance attributes such as a tongue design that expands players' striking area and boosts their ability to control the ball. Accordingly, the 'Devista Vegan' soccer shoes are setting about proving that performance and ethics aren't mutually exclusive when it comes to sportswear design.
