This Autonomous Vehicle is Designed For Complex Military Missions

Israeli defense company Elbit Systems has decided to team up with Maryland-headquartered unmanned ground vehicle manufacturer Roboteam to develop a high-tech vehicle that is designed to be used in a wide array of military and tactical environments.

The Rook UGV is capable of carrying its own weight in terms of payload, which comes to around 1,200 kilograms. With 24 cm of ground clearance, the vehicle is designed to be able to navigate treacherous terrain with ease, while its battery life of eight hours ensures it doesn't require frequent charging. What's most impressive about this vehicle however is that it is autonomous in its functioning.

Designed to be used for complicated missions such as evacuations, intelligence-gathering and delivery of supplies, this unmanned ground vehicle is ultimately designed to carry out hazardous missions while keeping humans out of harm's way.
